We will arrive at the trailhead in Soraypampa, located at 3,900 meters above sea level. Here, we will get ready for the hike with a light warm-up and local breakfast.
The hike to Humantay Lake will last about 1:30 to 2 hours, depending on our pace and weather conditions. The trail will challenge our stamina as we ascend to 4,200 meters. We will take our time, hydrate, and enjoy the breathtaking landscape that unfolds with every step. Horses may be available for rent in case we need extra support.
We will reach the turquoise waters of Humantay Lake, surrounded by glacier-covered peaks and dramatic ridgelines. The vivid colors of the lake will amaze us and offer perfect photo opportunities. Our guide will explain the natural and spiritual importance of this sacred spot in Inca traditions. We will take time to explore, meditate, and take in the peaceful atmosphere.
After our break by the lake, we will begin the descent back to Soraypampa. The downhill walk will feel easier, allowing us to enjoy the view again. We will share a delicious lunch in a nearby restaurant before returning to Cusco. Our team will ensure a safe and comfortable ride back after a fulfilling day.

We will begin the Humantay Lake Full Day Tour with hotel pick-up between 04:00 – 04:45 AM. Our journey will take us to Mollepata, located 2 hours from Cusco. The route offers spectacular views of the valley and mountains. Once in Mollepata, we’ll stop for a delicious buffet breakfast at the best local restaurant. We highly recommend drinking coca tea according to your doctor's instructions, it could help with altitude sickness.
After breakfast, we will continue for 1 hour and 15 minutes toward Soraypampa, the starting point for our hike. Soraypampa sits at 3,900 meters. From here, we will begin a challenging but rewarding ascent to Laguna Humantay. The hike to the lake will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. At a high altitude of 4,200 meters, we’ll take time to enjoy the incredible views.
Upon reaching Laguna Humantay, we’ll have free time to explore and take photographs of the stunning turquoise lake. You will be amazed by the surrounding snow-capped mountains and the crystal-clear waters. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, we will begin our descent back to Soraypampa.
Once back in Soraypampa, our transport will be waiting to take us to a local restaurant. Here, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. After lunch, we will begin the return journey to Cusco. We expect to arrive in Cusco by around 6:00 PM at the Plaza de Armas.
