Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2D/1N Tour

The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Peru tour will take us through breathtaking landscapes, ancient ruins, and vibrant Andean villages. We will travel along the winding Urubamba River, surrounded by majestic mountains and traditional farming terraces. Every stop will reveal the rich culture and history that define this region of Peru.

During the first day, we will explore the Sacred Valley, visiting Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and local artisan markets. We will learn about Inca engineering and admire impressive stonework that still stands today. In the evening, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, resting near the gateway to Machu Picchu. The journey will offer incredible scenery along the Andes and the Urubamba River.

On the second day, we will rise early and head to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We will climb to 2,430 meters above sea level and explore the ancient citadel with a professional guide. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains will inspire awe and admiration. After exploring, we will return to Cusco, carrying unforgettable memories of Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Peru.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up from your hotel between 6:20 AM. and 6:50 AM. We will begin our journey toward the Sacred Valley, enjoying incredible Andean landscapes. Our first stop will be at the Archaeological Site of Chinchero, located at 3,762 meters above sea level. We will visit a local community and learn about ancient weaving techniques at the Textile Interpretation Center.

Next, we will travel to Moray, a fascinating Inca agricultural laboratory with circular terraces that show advanced farming knowledge. We will continue to Maras, a picturesque colonial town famous for its salt mines. These mines include more than 3,000 salt pools, still used by local families. We will take time to admire the landscape and take photos of this unique natural wonder.

Afterward, we will continue to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with Andean and Peruvian flavors. Later, we will visit Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town that preserves its ancient urban design. We will explore the Archaeological Site of Ollantaytambo, observing impressive terraces and temples built with enormous stones. In the afternoon, we will board the train at 3:37 PM. or 4:36 PM. and travel for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, a local representative will take us to our hotel and provide details for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco

We will wake up early and have breakfast at the hotel. At 8:00 AM., our staff will pick us up and accompany us to the bus station. We will take the bus for 25 minutes, ascending through the lush mountains toward the Citadel of Machu Picchu, located at 2,430 meters above sea level. Our guide will be waiting at the control gate to begin the tour.

We will explore Machu Picchu for about three hours, following the main circuit. We will visit the most important areas such as the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, and the Intihuatana. We will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Every step will allow us to appreciate the genius of Inca architecture and engineering.

After the tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes. We will have time for lunch at a local restaurant and to explore the handicraft market. Later, we will head to the train station to take the 2:30 PM. or 2:55 PM. train back to Ollantaytambo. Our driver will meet us there and take us to Cusco, where we will arrive around 7:00 PM., ending our incredible Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Peru adventure.
