Itinerary
Day 1 - Valle Sagrado – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

We’ll dive into the day bright and early between 6:20 and 6:50 A.M., heading out from our hotel in Cusco. Our journey through the stunning Valle Sagrado de los Incas begins with a scenic ride into the mountains.

First stop: Chinchero, a charming Andean village full of tradition and history. In Chinchero, we’ll explore an impressive ancient place and spend time with the local community. At the “Centro de Interpretación Textil”, friendly artisans will show us ancient Inca weaving techniques. Get ready to touch soft natural fibers and watch colorful patterns come to life, just like in Inca times.

From there, we’ll head to the fascinating terraces of Moray, an Inca agricultural wonder built in giant circular layers. Each level has its own microclimate perfect for experimenting with crops.

Next, we’ll cruise to the quaint village of Maras to check out its colonial charm and explore the famous Salineras nearby. This stunning mountainside holds over 3,000 salt pools, still harvested by local families using ancient methods passed down for generations.

From there, we’ll continue to Urubamba and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch packed with authentic Peruvian flavors. After refueling, we’ll roll into Ollantaytambo, the last living Inca town where history is alive in every stone. We’ll explore its impressive ancient places and walk through ancient streets, and take in views of sacred terraces and temples.

From here, we board the train at 15:37 or 16:36 PM, depending on availability. The train ride lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes, offering scenic views of the Urubamba River. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, a guide will meet you at the station. They will escort you to your hotel and give important instructions for the next day’s tour.
