Tour summary

Our 5-day Cusco tour with GEO ADVENTURE begins with a warm welcome at the airport and private transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will explore top attractions during the Cusco City Tour. We’ll visit Qoricancha, the Inca Sun Temple, and Sacsayhuamán fortress.

The tour continues through Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay before ending at the Plaza de Armas.

On the second day, we’ll take the Sacred Valley tour. We will explore Chinchero, Moray’s circular terraces, and the salt mines of Maras. After lunch in Urubamba, we’ll visit Ollantaytambo and board the train to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay.

The third day features a guided tour of Machu Picchu. We’ll explore the Inca citadel and its main circuit. After enjoying the views, we’ll return by train and private transport to Cusco.

We will dedicate day four to the Rainbow Mountain day tour. We’ll hike from Fullawasipata to the summit, enjoying breathtaking views and possible wildlife sightings. We’ll return to Cusco by late afternoon.

On the final day, we’ll transfer you from Ayni Cusco Hotel to the airport. GEO ADVENTURE ensures a smooth and enriching journey through Cusco’s highlights.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Cusco Arrival & City Tour

We will pick you up at the Cusco airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will rest and prepare for an exciting first afternoon. We will explore the historic city of Cusco, starting with Qoricancha, the Inca Sun Temple. This temple once dazzled with golden walls and holds great spiritual significance.

Next, we will visit Sacsayhuamán, an impressive fortress with massive stone walls. Its precise stonework shows the skill of the Inca builders. We will continue to Qenqo, known for its ceremonial carvings and underground labyrinths. After that, we will stop at Puka Pukara, a red fortress used for military defense.

Our last stop will be Tambomachay, famous for its ancient water channels and springs. The site sits at 3,700 meters above sea level. We will return to Plaza de Armas by evening for some leisure time. This city tour will immerse us in Cusco’s vibrant history and culture.

Day 2 – Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes

We will travel through the breathtaking Sacred Valley, stopping first in Chinchero. This village sits at 3,762 meters above sea level. Here, we will explore Inca ruins and traditional markets full of vibrant textiles.

Next, we will visit Moray, an archaeological site with circular terraces. These terraces once served as an agricultural laboratory with microclimates. We will then continue to the salt mines of Maras, where locals harvest salt in thousands of pools.

After lunch in Urubamba, we will explore Ollantaytambo. This ancient Inca town features impressive terraces and a fortress that guarded the valley. Later, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. We will check into our hotel and rest for the next day.

Day 3 – Machu Picchu & Return to Cusco

We will take the morning bus up to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Our professional guide will lead us through this stunning citadel at 2,430 meters above sea level. We will learn about its history, architecture, and mysteries.

You will have free time to explore and photograph Machu Picchu’s terraces, temples, and breathtaking views. After the visit, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes. Then, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo.

From Ollantaytambo, private transportation will bring us back to Cusco. We will arrive in the evening to relax after a day full of adventure and culture.

The hike will challenge us physically but reward us with unforgettable landscapes. We will see vibrant mineral layers painted across the mountain slopes. After enjoying the summit, we will descend and return to Cusco by afternoon.

This tour lets us experience one of the Andes’ most unique natural wonders. It is a must-see for adventure lovers and nature photographers.
